Central bank: April inflation to slow down, soar afterwards

MOSCOW, Apr 17 (PRIME) – Russia’s annual inflation will decelerate further in April, but will speed up significantly after, according to the documents of the central bank published on Monday.

"The annual inflation figure will decrease further in April because the growth of April 2022 will be discounted,” the central bank said.

“In the following months, on the contrary, low values of monthly increases in the second half of 2022 will gradually come out of the calculation of annual inflation, and the current price increase will be more significant. Accordingly, the annual inflation rate will increase."

The basic annual inflation scenario of the central bank stands at 5–7% in 2023, 4% in 2024 and near that level in further years.
